Jose is living the life he always wanted in his palace. Servants doing everything he wishes and all the girls he could ever want. He becomes obsessed with buying things and he eventually goes broke. He lives on the street in a card board box now.

Bob is a middle class man who goes to work, returns home and watches his late night tv shows until he falls asleep and does the same thing the next day. "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day". He has nothing to live for and no energy, until one day he wakes up and finds a friend who shows him the way.

Josephs father and mother died at Pearl harbor. He never met either of them and was raised by catholic priests. Every year he returns to their graves and leaves flowers. The priests try to conform him into one of them but he wont do it. He leaves and joins a band.
